Breathe Easy with Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamps
In today’s modern era of technology, it isn’t hard to picture that we are living in a virtual beehive of magnetic fields. Electrical radiation is produced by TV’s, computers, overhead lighting, wireless printers and modems, and remembering that we are also cocooned in our homes and offices with walls of live electrical cables – all emitting electrical pollution.
When we do leave to head outdoors, we carry our mobile phones that are constantly switched on. It’s no wonder illness and disease is on the rise.
However, we can do something to combat these effects in our homes and offices. Himalayan Salt Lamps are Nature’s very own answer to man’s electrically created pollution. Simply plugin and turn on a few Himalayan Salt Lamps around the home and office and instantly feel the difference. Through attracting and evaporating moisture in the air, Himalayan Salt Lamps produce and release negatively charged ions into the atmosphere, instantly negating the harmful effects of the positively charged ions (generated by electrical equipment) saturating our living working spaces.
This allows our own unique electrical system (US!) to operate freely.
The How, Where and Why of Salt Lamps
Look for salt lamps that are natural crystal salt sourced from underground salt mines in the foothills of the Himalayan.
Heat from the bulb (in the lamps) assists in the emission of negative ions.
Lamp-created negative ions bond with pollutants (positive ions) and neutralise them – removing them from the air.
Negative ions combat electro-smog caused by electrical devices (YV’s, mobile phones, lighting, wireless networks).
Using a crystal salt lamp may help with relief from asthma, allergies, and other complaints.
These products not only cleanse the air naturally but are an extremely beautiful addition to any home or office.
How to care for a Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamp
While Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamps are “rock” like and very durable, if the following simple steps are taken they should last for decades.
- Wipe them with a damp cloth. Excess water will dissolve the salt.
- Not suitable for rooms with excess humidity such as bathrooms or outdoors.
- For best results, leave the lamp on for extended periods of time, especially if it’s humid or raining as this will assist with evaporation of moisture in the air.
- The lamp will tell you if it is not being used enough if it begins to pool moisture.
- If not in use (and the lamp is dry) wrap it in a plastic bag after unplugging and removing cord.
Electrical Safety Instructions
Always ensure the power is turned off when plugging in, unplugging, moving the lamp or changing the bulb.
Salt does attract the humidity out of the atmosphere. Lamps use the heat generated by the bulb to evaporate this moisture which keeps the lamp and fitting dry safe.
If the lamp is moist, remove the cord from the power socket and bulb from the bulb socket and allow to completely dry before reconnecting to the power.
